BEVERLY HILLS, February 02, (THEWILL) – Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari has warned civil servants in the Presidential Villa, Abuja to desist from divulging contents of official letter and files, stressing that whoever is caught in the act would be sanctioned.
Kyari, who gave this warning late on Monday during a send-off party for some officials who retired recently or redeployed from his office, recounted how a document signed by him illegally found its way out of his office.
While warning that such development would no longer be taken lightly, he stressed that anybody associated with any leaked information would face the consequence.
The presidency official averred that one thing that would not be tolerated is letters and information going out of the office illegally, revealing that he had come across a letter with his signature shown to him.
According to him, “I do not know who was responsible for that; I do not know why anyone should do that; but please make sure that such a thing does not happen.
“Anything that is written will come out anyway; it is not a secret; but the bad thing is for it to come out before it is publicly made by the relevant authorities.
“So, please do not fall into this trap of somebody asking you to bring a letter, because if by accident you are found or the letter traced to you, clearly it would not be something that we would tolerate.”
The Chief of Staff further warned workers against idling away the official working hours with gossips, stressing that a situation where workers engaged in “small talks” at the expense of their jobs will not be condoned.
