BEVERLY HILLS, February 11, (THEWILL) – A suit seeking to stop President Goodluck Jonathan from participating in the forthcoming general elections has been struck out.

The suit instituted by Prof. Tunde Samuel, Dr. Junaidu Mohammed, Mr. Rasak Adeogun and Yahaya Ezeemoo Ndu, was struck out on the request of the four plaintiffs who applied to withdraw the suit.

At the federal High Court sitting in Abuja where the case came up on Wednesday, counsel to the plaintiffs, Alex Akoja, of Yusuf Ali SAN Chambers conveyed the plaintiffs’ instruction to the court.

And since the president which is the only defendant in the suit did not object to the withdrawal‎, the trial Judge, Justice Ahmed Ramat Mohammed, struck it out and awarded a cost of N50, 000 against the plaintiffs to be paid to President Jonathan.
