The Comrades Marathon Legacy Since 1921, the Comrades Marathon has been the ultimate test of human endurance, attracting runners from across the globe to tackle the gruelling route between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. This year’s “down run” from Durban to Pietermaritzburg will see Jean-Claude join approximately 20,000 runners in this celebrated South African tradition that embodies the spirit of Ubuntu – humanity and togetherness.

Running for a Cause That Matters Jean-Claude’s participation in this prestigious race goes far beyond personal achievement. He is running to support The Zeebah Foundation’s ambitious project to develop Nigeria’s first purpose-built Therapy and Resource Autism Centre in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja.

This groundbreaking facility represents hope for countless families across Nigeria and West Africa who currently have limited access to specialised autism care and resources.

Raising Funds for Hope: The Vision The proposed state-of-the-art centre will transform autism care in the region by providing:

  • Residential accommodation for 50+ children+ prioritising those who need it most, including children from outside Abuja and families facing financial hardship.
  • Specialised therapy and sensory rooms designed specifically for autism intervention.
  • Minimum 5,000 square meters of purpose-built space with room for future expansion.
  • Comprehensive resources for families, caregivers, and the wider autism community.

Join the Journey As Jean-Claude prepares to conquer the challenging hills and valleys of the Comrades route, he carries with him the dreams of children with autism and their families. Every kilometre he runs brings us closer to raising the funds needed for this vital facility.

The Zeebah Foundation invites individuals, corporations and organisations to support this meaningful fundraising initiative. Together, we can ensure that Jean-Claude’s 90-kilometre journey creates a lasting impact for generations of children with autism.
