July 28, (THEWILL) – One of the Guber aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue state, Engr Barnabas Gemade, has said that the process of getting a flag bearer is far from over.
He, however, noted that there remains a very good chance of a successful conclusion of the matter, not minding the duration of time.
“This is a battle between light and darkness, good and evil, truth and lies. Truth comes slowly, but when it arrives, lies vanish. Light will surely drive away darkness and evil has never defeated good.
“I, therefore, call on my dear supporters to be calm and prayerful, so that by the time the decision will be finally taken, the BIG PROJECT will be flying high.”
In a statement titled, “my current status and position in the happening in Benue APC”, Engr Gemade commended his Campaign Organisation, supporters and well wishers within and outside the state for their massive support and patience since the struggle to become the APC Party gubernatorial standard bearer in the State started.
“In the past two months now, I have received numerous calls and visits from within and outside the country in respect of the APC Benue gubernatorial primary election, which took place in May, 2022.”
He noted that the publication should not have been necessary now since his quest to clinch the Party’s ticket in Benue State remains a work in progress, but is still necessary to brief his esteemed supporters about the current position.
According to the former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, his journey in the APC has been with so much ups and downs and the most current is the sham primary, which many political actors have described as yahoo-yahoo primary.
“I am poised to challenge the impunity in our party decisively and by the time I or any of the other aspirants become the gubernatorial candidate of our dear Party (APC) through credible means and not through vote allocation in private homes, sanity will prevail.”
Engr Gemade said, he is still a full committed member of APC and not out to sell or mortgage the trust and confidence the people reposed in him, but to make sure that the evil is corrected, pointing out that what some of them are going through in the hands of some unscrupulous elements should not happen to anyone else in the future.
“I am here to restore true democracy where our children unborn will be proud of, I am here to speak for the less privilege, I am here to once again ensure that the poor, the fatherless in our dear State and the down trodden will also be given the chance to vote and be voted for, and I am here to make sure that I revamp our dear State to an enviable position.”
