March 17, (THEWILL) — Goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Bradley Barcola and Senny Mayulu handed Paris Saint-Germain a 3-0 victory over Chelsea on Tuesday, completing an 8-2 aggregate triumph to put the French champions into the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
The tie was effectively settled within 14 minutes. Kvaratskhelia, who had tormented Chelsea in the first leg, struck again in the sixth minute, holding off Mamadou Sarr before bending a finish past Robert Sanchez from a long ball played by Matvey Safonov. Eight minutes later, Achraf Hakimi won possession in midfield and fed Barcola, who drove a stunning volley into the top-left corner to double the lead.
Kvaratskhelia had a second goal ruled out for offside just after the half-hour mark, offering Chelsea a brief reprieve.
