SAN FRANCISCO, April 25, (THEWILL) – The State Congress of the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will Saturday, April 26th hold its Congress to elect party executives at the Civic Centre, Port Harcourt.
Recall that the Congress was earlier rescheduled because of Thursday’s expanded national security meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and all State Governors.
A statement by the APC on Friday said, “the Congress will start from 8am and will be attended by over 2,000 delegates earlier elected at their various Wards. The highlight of the Congress will be the election of a 36-Man EXCO to run the affairs of the party in the State.”
Interim State Chairman Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, said all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure a successful Congress. He appealed to delegates “to be orderly and peaceful to enable us show to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) how things are done in a truly democratic setting,” the statement signed by Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, SSA Media and Public Affairs to the Interim Chairman said.
