BEVERLY HILLS, August 06, (THEWILL) – Unknown gunmen have attacked and killed several people at St. Philips Catholic Church in Ozubulu located in Ekusigo Local Government Area of Anambra state.
The reason for the attack is not yet known and the perpertuators are not yet known.
The gunmen, who were masked, shot at worshipers during an early morning mass in the church on Sunday, leaving many injured apart from those that died at the spot.
THEWILL gathered that the deceased and Injured victims of the attack, have been conveyed to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi.
The attack has been confirmed by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Garba Baba Umar.
The State Governor, Willie Obiano who visited the church to commiserate with the parishioners, condemned the attack.
He called for calm and also assured that the culprits will be brought to justice.
Meanwhile, at the time of filing the report, the reason for the attack at St. Philips Catholic Church by the gunmen was unknown.
