BEVERLY HILLS, June 7, (THEWILL) – President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki has formally sent his response to investigators at the police force in Abuja following his alleged link to the armed bank robbers in custody.

The gang, who claimed to be political thugs of the Saraki and his protégé, the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfattah Ahmed, said both men had no knowledge that they were armed bank robbers responsible for multiple bank robberies in Offa, Kwara and the murder of 33 persons during their daring raid and sack of a police station.

“In line with their request, earlier today, the police received my response to their letter on the investigation into the Offa robbery case,” Saraki said in a tweet.

The police had earlier withdrawn its invitation to Saraki to appear in person but made a dramatic U-turn on Wednesday insisting that the Senate President appear in person.

There has been no love lost between Saraki and the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
