SAN FRANCISCO, October 20, (THEWILL) – The Senate Tuesday said it would only screen three ministerial nominees per day so as to give senators enough time to question them.
Senator Dino Melaye, the Senate’s spokesman, made the decision public.
Those slatted for screening according to Tuesday’s revised order paper are Khadija Abba-Ibrahim (Yobe), Barr. Adebayo Shittu (Oyo) and Cladius Omoleye Daramola (Ondo).
Others earlier listed for screening before the reversal are: Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers); Anthony Anwuka Gozie (Imo); Brig-Gen. Mansur Dan Ali, retd (Zamfara); James E. Ocholi (Kogi); Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed (Kaduna); Mustapha Baba Shehuri (Borno); Aisha Abubakar (Sokoto); Heineken Lokpobiri (Bayelsa); Adamu Adamu (Bauchi); Pastor Usani Usani Uguru (Cross River) and Abubakar Bwari Bawa (Niger).
The Senate is yet to receive the report of the committee it commissioned to look into a petition against Amaechi. The report is expected to be submitted Wednesday, Melaye said.
