July 24, (THEWILL) – The Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company and Country Chairman, Shell Companies In Nigeria, Osagie Okunbor, has bagged a lifetime award as the Dr Alirio Parra Lifetime Achievement recipientt in the Nigeria Oil and Gas industry for 2022.
Okunbor was named the recipient of the award at the 21st edition of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition, which took place last week. The award was named after the late Venezuelan Minister of Petroleum and one of the founding fathers of the organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC. Alirio Parra. His lifetime award is the most prestigious recognition to the development of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
Okunbor was chosen after he was nominated through online votes by members who took part in the conference. His latest feat has granted Okunbor the privilege to be named among a distinguished list of previous winners which includes Dr Kachalla Maikanti Baru, a former Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation who died in 2020.
A graduate of Business Administration from the University of Benin, Okunbor has over 30 years’ experience in the industry and rose through the ranks until he became the Managing director of SPDC. He is also on board chairman of the organisation.
