BEVERLY HILLS, December 09, (THEWILL) – Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State has taken a bold step to reconstitute the state cabinet.
The move is coming four months after he dissolved his cabinet on August 11.
Already, the governor has sent the list of the new nominees to the state House of Assembly for statutory screening and approval as commissioners and members of the state executive council.
The state House of Assembly has also fixed December 16 for the screening.
Those who made the list, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda, are Baba Kaka Bashir Garbai, Baba Gana Abbas Dawa, Alamin Mohammed Gumsuri, Usman Mamman Durkwa, Barr. Kaka Shehu Lawan, Dr. Haruna Mshelia, Yunus Baba Mairami, Fanta Baba Shehu, Yerima Lawan Kareto, and Barr. Isa Buratai
Others are Dr. Salma Annas Kolo, Usman Ali Zanna, Dr. Zainab Gimba, Comr. Musa Inuwa Kubo, Mustapha Fanarambe, Hassan Mustapha Aminami, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, Sugun Mai Mele, Ibrahim Abubakar Babale, Magaji Wamdeo and Ali Abatcha.
The Chief of Staff to the governor, Hon. Abubakar Kyari, who has been elected as the senatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) for Borno North,will not be returning and Hon. Modu Alhaji Musa, a former member of the House of Representatives from Kukawa, Mobbar, Guzama and Abadam Federal Constituency, has been listed to replace him..
Meanwhile, Hon. Usman Chiroma has been confirmed as Caretaker Chairman of
the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC). He is to replace AbdulKadir Rahis who won the APC primary to represent MMC at the House of Representatives.
In the same vein, Ibrahim Audu Miringa has been appointed as the Chairman Assembly Service Commission while Babagana Shettima Mailafiya was appointed as a member of the Teaching Service Board. Both are to replace the last occupiers of the offices who defected from APC when former governor Ali Modu-Sheriff dumped the party for PDP.
