SAN FRANCISCO, July 01, (THEWILL) – The Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria from Sierra Leone, Alfred Nelson, has been kidnapped along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.
Nelson is a retired Sierra Leonean Army Officer and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) for Sierra Leone from 2008 to 2010.
He was abducted on Thursday by unknown persons on his way to Kaduna to attend an event by the military.
THEWILL gathered that efforts to reach him on his phone lines have proved abortive.
Nelson holds degrees from Junior and Senior Command and Staff Colleges in Ghana, and is a Fellow of the Nigeria War College, with degrees in Management and Public Administration at the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Master of Science at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria.
His honours and awards include an ECOMOG Medal as well as long service, efficiency and gallantry medals. He also earned a National Award as Grand Officer of the Order of Rokel.
