March 30, (THEWILL) – Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps (So-Safe) have arrested two scavengers for allegedly stealing aluminum cable wires in the Obada-Oko area of the state.
The suspects, identified as 25-year-old Kamoru Mustapha and 26-year-old Mubarak Idris, were apprehended around 5:00 p.m. on March 29 during a routine patrol by So-Safe officers.
Confirming the arrest in a statement issued over the weekend, the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, said the duo was caught in a bush while carting away stolen aluminum cables at Onijanganjangan, Obada-Oko, in Ewekoro Local Government Area.
According to Yusuf, the suspects have confessed to the crime during preliminary investigations.
He further disclosed that the Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects and the recovered items to the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
