The 41-year-old Strasbourg boss departed France following his side’s 1–1 draw with Nice on Saturday.
Enzo Maresca left Stamford Bridge on New Year’s Day after his relationship with senior officials collapsed.
Under-21 manager Calum McFarlane took temporary charge for Sunday’s 1–1 draw against Manchester City but is not expected to remain in the role long-term.
Should Monday’s interview prove successful, Rosenior could be appointed before Chelsea face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.
The former Fulham defender previously stated he did not know whether Saturday’s match would be his final game with Strasbourg, which is also owned by BlueCo.
Chelsea have collected just one win from their past eight English Premier League fixtures, dropping points against Arsenal, Leeds United, Bournemouth, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Manchester City.
The club currently sit fifth in the table, three points behind third-placed Liverpool, but remain in contention for Champions League qualification.
Rosenior has no previous managerial experience in the EPL. The potential appointment comes amid vocal supporter demonstrations directed at BlueCo, the consortium controlled primarily by Clearlake Capital and co-owner Behdad Eghbali.
