October 26, (THEWILL) – The Super Falcons delivered a commanding performance in their international friendly match against Algeria, claiming a 2-0 victory at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Saturday. The triumph marked an impressive start for interim manager Justin Madugu in his debut match.
Team captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, demonstrated her striking capabilities by scoring both goals for Nigeria. The Atletico Madrid forward opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a precise finish, before adding her second goal during first-half stoppage time. This performance has increased her international tally to six goals in 20 appearances.
The match served as an important platform for domestic league players, who constituted the majority of the Nigerian squad. Five international professionals, including goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defender Tosin Demehin, midfielder Esther Onyenezide, and forwards Gift Monday and Ajibade, were integrated into the starting lineup.
