SAN FRANCISCO, October 28, (THEWILL) – Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Honourable Aminu Tambuwal Tuesday formally announced his defection from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), ending weeks of speculation about his political future in the PDP.
Tambuwal during Tuesday’s session of the House, told lawmakers that his defection was hinged on his political survival and political events in his home state of Sokoto, where the Governor, who was formally a member of the PDP led the mass defection of senior party members to the APC, a few months ago.
After announcing his defection to the APC, he adjourned House proceedings till December.
