BEVERLY HILLS, June 29, (THEWILL) – A 13-year-old teenager was on Tuesday arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defiling the six-year-old daughter of his neighbour.
A statement in court by the prosecutor, Police Sergeant Rafael Donny, revealed that the offence was committed on June 6 at his parent’s residence.
“The accused is a student who lives with his parents at Iju Ishaga Area of Lagos,” Donny stated.
“The accused called the victim to his room and defiled her, thereby contravening Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.”
The teenager, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Chief Magistrate, Tajudeen Elias, granted the accused N250, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till July 20 for mention.
