May 07, (THEWILL) – Three persons have died in an auto crash that occurred around Sapade, in Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Corridor of Ogun State.

Two persons also sustained varying degrees of injuries from the accident

The crash involved a Toyota car with registration numbers: KSF122 FB and a Sino truck with registration numbers:FZE840G.

The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ogun State, Florence Okpe confirmed the incident to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta at the weekend.

Okpe said that the cause of the crash due to was excessive speed on the part of the Toyota car driver who lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the moving truck from the back.

She said that five persons(four male and one female) were involved in the accident, two persons sustained injuries, while the remaining three persons died

The superintendent route commander said that the injured victims had been taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere for medical attention, while the corpses were deposited at FOS Morgue, Ipara.

He, therefore, reiterated on dangers of excessive speed, especially during rainy season where visibility is poor and advised motorists to drive defensively and obey traffic rules and regulations to arrive safely.
