SAN FRANCISCO, May 03, (THEWILL) – Three prayers of German Bundelisga side Cologne have tested positive for coronavirus according to official statement of the club.
The club further said, the 3 players that tested positive are “symptom free” nevertheless remain in quarantine for the mandatory 14 days period.
The statement also highlighted that; “The entire team and coaching staff, along with the backroom staff, tested on Thursday for Covid-19.”
As for the identity of those that tested positive for the Coronavirus;
“FC Koln will not confirm any names out of respect for the privacy of those affected. Training can continue as planned, according to the hygiene and infection control measures that have been in place since 6 April in group training.
“The prerequisite for this is that the relevant group of people are tested further, as stated for in the medical concept of the ‘Taskforce Sports Medicine/Special Game Operation’ from the DFL.”
Like other leagues, the Bundelisga was suspended in mid-March due to the increasing cases of COVID-19.
Cologne was sitting at the 10th position with 9 games left before the league was suspended.
