December 05, (THEWILL) – President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Wednesday following official state visits to France and South Africa.
His airplane arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at about 9.10 pm and was received by a delegation of senior government functionaries led by Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The President departed Nigeria on November 27 for a 3-day state visit to France.
The visit aimed to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties while fostering new opportunities for partnership in key sectors, including agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, employment, innovation, and energy transition.
He however departed France on Monday for South Africa for the 11th session of the Nigeria- South Africa Bi-National Commission, BNC alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa.

He acknowledged the contributions of South African companies such as MTN and MultiChoice to Nigeria’s economy and highlighted the success of Nigerian firms, including Dangote Group and Access Bank, in South Africa.
While President Ramaphosa on Tuesday announced that the country has simplified its visa processes to facilitate travel for Nigerian business people and tourists, with measures such as five-year multiple entry visas, Tinubu called for the Nigeria—South Africa strategic partnership to become a model of leadership, economic integration, and shared prosperity for the African continent.
The two countries also agreed to urgently finalise the five-year-old Memorandum of Understanding on the Early Warning Mechanism, which monitors threats of violence, acts of criminality, and reprisals involving nationals of both countries.
