July 10, (THEWILL) — President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to consolidating and strengthening the reform-oriented policies initiated by his predecessor, former President Muhammadu Buhari, in delivering democratic dividends to Nigerians.
Tinubu gave the assurance during the public presentation of a book titled “According to the President: Lessons from a Presidential Spokesman’s Experience”, authored by Garba Shehu, former Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Buhari.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, Tinubu said nation-building is a continuous process, with each administration building on the foundations laid by the previous one.
“Nation-building is a relay. The efforts of one administration lay the foundation for the next. In this regard, I acknowledge the efforts of my predecessor, President Buhari, and assure all Nigerians that the reform-oriented path he initiated will be consolidated and strengthened under this administration,” he said.
He added that his Renewed Hope Agenda is driven by a vision to create a resilient, just, and inclusive Nigeria—one that truly delivers on the promise of democracy to all citizens.
Also speaking at the event, the chairman of the occasion and former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd.), described Buhari as a firm believer in the Nigerian project who left office with his integrity intact.
In his remarks, the 16th Emir of Kano, His Highness Aminu Ado Bayero, urged leaders at all levels to ensure their policies are people-centred and executed with compassion, in order to reduce the suffering of Nigerians.
