May 23 (THEWILL) — Secretary to Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has expressed the hope that President Bola Tinubu will be re-elected in the 2027 general elections given what he has done for the country so far.

Senator Akume fielded question from newsmen when he landed at the Makurdi Airport on Friday, noting that Benue State is one of the greatest beneficiary of the administration owing to infrastructural and appointments of indigenes into various positions.

The SGF, therefore, urged party members and stakeholders in Benue State to place the collective interest of the All Progressives Congress above personal ambitions, noting that internal cohesion would be critical to the party’s success in future elections.

Decrying the alleged diversion of electoral materials for conduct of national, governorship and state house of assembly primaries in the state, he appealed to aggrieved aspirants and their supporters to embrace dialogue and reconciliation, insisting that disagreements arising from the exercises should not weaken the party’s structure in the state.

According to him, he was in the state to mobilise support for Tinubu, whom he said was doing very well in delivering dividends of democracy to Nigerians as never before.

“I’ve told him repeatedly, that he has no problem in Benue State. In this country, his performance, his commitment to patriotism, inclusive nature of government all speak in his favour”, Akume stated.

He appealed to supporters to remain peaceful and turn out in large numbers to participate in both primary and general elections in favour of President Bola Tinubu to win and consolidate on the gains already on ground.
