July 10, (THEWILL) — Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised at least 24 Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists during a series of operations across Borno and Adamawa states.
Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Headquarters Theatre Command Operation Hadin Kai, Capt. Reuben Kovangiya, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday. He said the operations, conducted between July 4 and 9, 2025, were supported by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai and carried out in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters.
In one of the ambushes on July 4 at Platari, troops intercepted terrorists riding bicycles from the Sambisa Forest toward the Timbuktu Triangle. A gun battle ensued, leading to the elimination of three terrorists.
Kovangiya said further intelligence-led operations around the Komala general area resulted in the neutralisation of another insurgent. Items recovered included motorcycles, knapsack sprayers, pesticides, and food supplies.
That same night, a separate ambush in the Kawuri area of Konduga LGA led to the death of two terrorists transporting logistics, while others fled with gunshot wounds. Troops recovered several items including food seasoning, salt, and detergents.
On July 5, troops intercepted terrorists attempting to infiltrate the Madarari IDP camp in Konduga. One terrorist was killed, and several rounds of ammunition were recovered during a sweep of the area.
In another operation at Leno Kura, troops engaged terrorists at their enclave and neutralised three fighters. Similarly, a night ambush on July 6 along the Ngoshe–Gava and Amuda–Gava roads resulted in the death of another insurgent.
Kovangiya also confirmed that on July 7, troops ambushed terrorist logistics suppliers near Sabsawa village, killing two insurgents and recovering bicycles, rubber shoes, torchlights, batteries, and other materials.
On July 8, clearance operations were launched at Bula Marwa, a known ISWAP/JAS enclave. One insurgent was killed, a gun and terrorist uniforms were recovered, and the camp was destroyed.
The operation was carried out jointly with the CJTF under close air support.
That same day, troops, hunters, and CJTF operatives conducted a fighting patrol in Pambula village, Madagali LGA of Adamawa State. One terrorist was killed, and troops recovered four motorcycles and a weapon.
On July 9, another clearance operation at Tangalanga and Bula Marwa resulted in the elimination of three insurgents.
Troops destroyed terrorist camps and recovered six AK-47 rifles, 47 magazines, and 90 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
Capt. Kovangiya commended the resilience and bravery of the troops and affirmed the military’s commitment to eradicating terrorism in the North-East.
