October 27, (THEWILL) — Juventus have parted company with head coach, Igor Tudor, following a damaging sequence of results that has left the club in eighth place in Serie A. The decision was taken after the Bianconeri extended their winless run to eight matches across all competitions, culminating in a 1-0 defeat to Lazio on Sunday.
The Turin club have managed only 12 points from their opening eight league fixtures this season. That total marks their worst start to a top-flight campaign since the 2015/2016 season, when they collected just nine points at the same stage.
Tudor’s departure means Juventus have changed their head coach before the end of October for the first time since the 1969/1970 season. On that occasion, the club finished the campaign in third position in Serie A.
The Croatian coach had been appointed in March, taking over from Thiago Motta. His entire coaching staff have also been removed from their positions at the club.
Massimo Brambilla has been named interim head coach and will oversee Wednesday’s league fixture against Udinese. Juventus currently sit 25th in the 36-team UEFA Champions League table.
