BEVERLY HILLS, October 14, (THEWILL) – A militant group known as the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate (NDGJM) has revealed that it attacked a crude oil delivery line that supplies product to the Ughelli Quality Control Center in Delta state.

The group, in a statement by its spokesperson, ‘Gen’ Aldo Agbalaja, said it also launched its ‘Operation Hammurabi Code’ after a former king of Babylonia (1792-1750bc) in mockery of the ‘Operation Crocodile Smile’ by the Nigeria Army.

“At about 2100hours of Thursday, October 13, 2016, the Akuma Strike Team of the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate brought down the Iwhremaro to the Ughelli Quality Control Centre (QCC) delivery line to signal the commencement of the Operation Hammurabi Code,” the statement read.

“We have been patient and reasonable all along; hence our choice to restrict our activities to mild operations that were not aimed at causing critical damages, but it has now become crystal clear that we are dealing with devious and incorrigible people.”

“Therefore, we serve this as a notice to the Nigerian government and its conniving multinationals that the Operation Hammurabi Code has been initiated, henceforth, it shall be an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Now you shall know what uprooting of your cherished assets means. It starts from now on, there is no longer going to be warnings or special consideration for anybody.”

The attack on the QCC, operated by the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), which hosts four crude oil tank farms and receives products from six oil fields within the Oil Mining Lease 30 while it supplies crude oil and gas to the Forcados Terminal, Warri and Kaduna refineries, has not been confirmed.

Meanwhile, gunmen have attacked the Rivers State Amnesty Programme Committee led by the Kenneth Chinda, at Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) of Rivers State.

The team had resumed duty in ONELGA before they were armed bushed by suspected unrepentant militants in the area who intercepted the team around Akabuka community and opened fire on them.

This led to a fierce gun battle between the bandits and the security operatives attached to the team who later overpowered the hoodlums and chased them into a creek in the area.

THEWILL gathered that the army arrested Celestine Okpaka, one of the boys who attacked the committee and second in command, Obiezimini Icelanders cult group.

Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the attack but added that he yet to get all the information about the incident.
