SAN FRANCISCO, November 03, (THEWILL) – As the United State begins its election today, November 3, it appears Trump has stolen the hearts of some Nigerians.
Some churchgoers of the Living Christ Mission Inc. in Onitsha, Anambra state had marched in support of the US Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump on Sunday, October 25.
According to Reuters, a Pew Research Center poll in January found that more than fifty per cent of Nigerians have confidence in Trump.
It stated, “58% of Nigerians had confidence in Trump, behind only Israel, the Philippines and Kenya.”
The same news medium also shared a portrait of Trump dressing in a respected Nigerian Yoruba attire, a photo created by a 23-year-old artist, Peter Udoakang.
When asked, the artist said, “I made this painting to bring him closer to us” adding that Trump’s “radical” approach to governing appealed to Nigerians, who are used to hustling in a tough economy to survive.
The US election is closely contested between Republican candidate, Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
