September 21, (THEWILL) — Imo residents, especially those in the rural areas, are now jubilating as the State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has commenced construction of new fifty-five (55) primary Health Centres in the 27 Local Government Areas.
THEWILL recalls that the death rate in Imo has been high in the past years because attention was not given to the health sector by the past administrations, with the assumption of office by Sen. Uzodimma.
THEWILL learnt that the governor approved the construction to strengthen healthcare delivery and bring medical services closer to communities as part of the administration’s commitment to revamping the health sector and ensuring accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for every Imo person.
Uzodimma, in his speech, described the construction of the facilities as a milestone in his government’s people-oriented agenda.
“The health centres will be fully equipped and staffed to provide round-the-clock services, with special attention to maternal and child health, disease prevention, and emergency responses.”
