BEVERLY HILLS, February 05, (THEWILL) – Leaders of thought and top politicians in Yobe State have vowed to resist any attempt to postpone the February general elections.

At a media briefing in Damaturu, the state capital, on Thursday, the leaders, including Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim (former governor of the state and presently a senator seeking re-election; Alhaji Sidi Yakubu Karasuwa (a former chairman of defunct All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) and who is seeking a seat at the House of Representatives; Hon. Khadija Bukar Abba and Hon. Bukar Goni (both members of the lower chamber of the National Assembly and seeking re-election), described those calling for the postponement of the elections as self seeking people who do not mean well for majority of Nigerians.

The leaders said they would not sit back and watch a few selfish Nigerians bring the nation back into the woods, warning that a shift in the elections timeline could drag the nation into crisis.
