
February 26, (THEWILL) — Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved the appointment of Dr Dagogo Wokoma as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Mr Sunny Ewule, as Chief of Staff (CoS), in a move aimed at strengthening administrative coordination and governance in the state.
The governor disclosed this in a press statement issued to newsmen on Thursday, by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, in Port Harcourt.
According to the statement, the appointments take immediate effect, signalling the administration’s commitment to reinforcing its leadership structure and improving policy implementation across government institutions.
Governor Fubara said the appointments were made after careful consideration of the appointees’ competence, experience and track record in public service, expressing confidence in their ability to support the delivery of his administration’s development agenda.
He further announced that the new appointees would be sworn into office at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, at the Executive Council (Exco) Chamber, Government House, Port Harcourt.
The governor charged Dr Wokoma and Mr Ewule to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, professionalism and loyalty to the people of the state, stressing the need for effective collaboration within the machinery of government.
As Secretary to the State Government, Wokoma is expected to coordinate government policies, oversee Executive Council affairs and ensure seamless interaction among ministries, departments and agencies.
Ewule, in his role as Chief of Staff, will supervise the operations of the governor’s office, coordinate official engagements and facilitate efficient execution of administrative directives.
