November 04, (THEWILL) — Woodhall Capital has announced plans to mobilise $50 billion in investments to support infrastructure, energy, trade, and small business development across Nigeria. The announcement was made at a pre-investor forum at the presidential villa, attended by government officials, investors, and development finance institutions.
The initiative builds on Woodhall Capital’s track record of channelling global capital into Nigeria, having raised approximately $6 billion over the past decade. The firm has also facilitated funding for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), creative industries, and export-focused businesses through partnerships with institutions like the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
Woodhall Capital said the investment drive is expected to create jobs, improve roads and electricity supply, expand trade opportunities, and support entrepreneurial growth. For ordinary Nigerians, this could mean more employment opportunities, better access to essential services, wider opportunities for small businesses, and growth in the creative and export sectors.
The firm also plans to leverage innovative financing models, including trade finance and factoring, to help small businesses access capital and scale operations. Past initiatives, such as the N1.5 billion Creative Sector Fund and workshops on export financing, highlight Woodhall’s commitment to inclusive economic growth that directly touches households and communities.
While ambitious, the success of the initiative will depend on effective project execution, regulatory alignment, and macroeconomic stability. If fully realised, the $50 billion investment could deliver tangible improvements in everyday life for Nigerians, from jobs and business opportunities to better infrastructure and services.
