Argentina winger Angel Di Maria has been ruled out of Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final against the Netherlands, but striker Sergio Aguero is fit to play.
Di Maria, 26, came off injured in the 1-0 quarter-final victory over Belgium.
The Real Madrid player was assessed on Sunday and it was confirmed he has a thigh strain and will not face the Dutch.
Manchester City striker Aguero has returned to training and declared himself fit for selection.
The 26-year-old has not played since injuring his hamstring in the group-stage win over Nigeria.
Di Maria, who scored a dramatic extra-time winner against Switzerland in the last 16, could be fit for the final on Sunday should Argentina get there.
