BEVERLY HILLS, November 27, (THEWILL) – The Yobe State Police Command Thursday decorated six newly-promoted police officers at the headquarters of the Command in Damaturu, the state capital.
Five of the newly-promoted officers were promoted from Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) while the remaining one who was an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) was elevated to the post of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) .
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Markus Danladi, who decorated the officers with their new ranks, described their promotion as an added responsibility as he charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Explaining that their promotion was based on their commitment to hard work, he urged them to do more to salvage the country from the current security challenges even as he advised those who would be moved to the positions vacated by the newly-promoted officers to work assiduously towards filling the vacuum created by the promoted officers.
Expressing gratitude to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Police Service Commission (PSC) for considering the newly elevated officers worthy for the promotion, Danladi urged the promoted officers to justify the confidence reposed in them.
In a vote of thanks on behalf of the newly-promoted officers, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vwamhi Felix said: “We cannot but appreciate the honour done us and we are assuring all that we will work hard towards the fight against insurgency and the restoration of peace in the state and the country as a whole.”
