February 09, (THEWILL) – Chelsea have expressed confidence that 18-year-old January signing, Andrey Santos, will be granted a work permit to play in the English Premier League.
Santos, a standout talent in the Brazilian second tier, signed with Chelsea before flying back to South America to participate in the Under-20 Championships.
Despite not initially qualifying for a permit, due to the league he was coming from, Santos’ impressive performance at the tournament has reportedly earned him the right to a permit after an appeal to the FA Exceptions Panel.
The Blues are currently in need of reinforcements in midfield due to injuries and the recent departure of Jorginho, and Santos is expected to play a role in Graham Potter’s first team going forward.
