May 2, (THEWILL)- The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), says its operatives have arrested one Ibrahim Abdullahi, one of the suspects behind the violent attack on the Abuja-Kaduna passenger train in March 2022.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who disclosed this during a press briefing on Thursday, said, 48 AK-47 rifles were recovered during his arrest while investigations are ongoing to identify his sponsor and supplier of the weapons.
The Police image maker said Abdullahi, also known by the ominous moniker of Mandi, had also participated in the abduction of students from Greenfield University in 2021; adding that the arrest marks a significant breakthrough into the investigations of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack.
THEWILL recalls that the Nigerian Army had in February 2023, said its troops had on Valentine’s Day arrested one of the masterminds of the Train attack.
In a statement, the then Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, had said the suspect confessed to being one of the attackers.
