July 07, (THEWILL) – AC Milan are eyeing Villarreal’s winger, Samuel Chukwueze, as they seek to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season.

The Italian giants have made Chukwueze one of their priority targets, recognising his potential to contribute significantly to their title challenge. However, negotiations between the two clubs have hit a snag, as Villarreal has set an asking price of €30 million for the Nigerian international.

In an attempt to secure Chukwueze’s signature, AC Milan have submitted an initial offer of €25 million. Nevertheless, it remains uncertain whether this amount will be sufficient to convince Villarreal to part ways with the talented winger. AC Milan have previously engaged in lengthy negotiations with Villarreal, notably in 2017 for the transfer of Argentine defender, Mateo Musacchio and are proficient at prolonged discussions. As Chukwueze’s contract with Villarreal enters its final year, the Spanish club appears willing to cash in on the player.

Chukwueze’s impressive performances during the 2022/2023 season, which yielded 24 goal involvements, have attracted AC Milan’s attention. The Rossoneri see him as a player who could significantly bolster their attacking options and potentially aid them in their pursuit of the Scudetto.

With the 19-time Italian champions eager to reinforce their squad, the negotiations for Chukwueze’s transfer appear set to continue, and it remains to be seen whether AC Milan can meet Villarreal’s asking price or if the Spanish outfit will bend to Milan’s negotiations.
