August 28, (THEWILL) – Fulham central defender Tosin Adarabioyo is poised to seal a permanent transfer away from the London club before the summer transfer window shuts on September 1.
The 25-year-old, who came through the Youth Academy at Manchester City, is expected to depart Craven Cottage after making just one appearance this season. Adarabioyo will train separately from Fulham’s first team this week as he nears an exit according to reports. Ligue 1 side AS Monaco are thought to be leading the chase for the Englishman’s signature, having prioritised recruiting another centre-back.
Aside from Monaco, English Premier League team, Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest in the Nigerian. Adarabioyo was a surprise inclusion in Fulham’s squad for their impressive 2-2 draw at Arsenal last weekend. He came on as an 89th-minute substitute in his only appearance so far this campaign.
The defender did not feature in any pre-season games for Fulham amid speculation about his future. With less than a year remaining on his current contract, Adarabioyo looks set to move abroad to Monaco before the transfer window closes on Friday. In response, Fulham have identified Tottenham’s Eric Dier as a potential replacement.
