February 14, (THEWILL) – Juliet Adebowale-Arimoro, who plays for Nigeria’s Under-20 female football squad, has joined Watford on a dual-sign agreement from Brighton & Hove Albion Women, according to the club’s official website.
In December 2021, the 18-year-old was called up to the Falconets squad for a FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Congo.
Although she is yet to make her Women’s Super League debut for Brighton & Hove, Adebowale-Arimoro has been on the bench four times this season and has been invited to train with the first team on multiple occasions.
Following her strong exploits in the FA WSL Academy League, Watford made a bid for the young teenager to add to their squad strength.
On Sunday, February 13, she made her Watford debut in a 2-0 loss to Lewes at the Orbital Fasteners Stadium, donning the number 33 on the back of her jersey in the Women’s Championship match.
There is a fair bit of representation of Nigerian-related talent in Watford, where much like the men’s team that boasts no less than four Nigerians, Adebowale-Arimoro will be teaming up with Adekite Fatuga-Dada.
Although Dada is yet to represent Nigeria, she is an eligible striker of interest to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). However, her dual-eligibility means she also qualifies to represent the United States of America in international football.
