October 09, (THEWILL) – In Sunday’s Serie A match between Udinese and Atalanta, Ademola Lookman’s opener was not enough as it ended in an exciting 2-2 tie.

Atalanta may have succeeded in climbing to the top spot, with 21 points after nine games, and kept their unbeaten run intact, but they could not secure the victory that they desired.

Atalanta looked set to take maximum points when, nine minutes before halftime, Lookman gave them the lead after being set up for the goal by Luis Muriel. It was his third goal in nine league appearances for Gian Piero Gasperini’s team this season.

Four minutes before the hour mark, Muriel increased the lead from the penalty spot. It appeared that Atalanta was cruising to victory and in the 65th minute, Udinese introduced Nigerian attacker Isaac Success for Beto.

Two minutes later, Gerard Deulofeu’s excellent goal for the Zebras helped the team to half the deficit and in the 76th minute, the Argentine defender Patricio Nehuen equalised for the home team. At the final whistle, the teams settled for a share of the spoils.
