March 30, (THEWILL) – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the dates for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
The tournament will kick off on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, and will run for four weeks, ending on February 11, 2024. This will be the 34th edition of the tournament and will feature Africa’s top 24 nations. It will be the second time that the tournament has been held in Cote d’Ivoire, the first being in 1984 when Cameroon emerged as winners.
With the qualifiers for the TotalEnergies AFCON 2023 approaching its final stages, the path to Cote d’Ivoire is becoming clearer as the continent gears up for Africa’s biggest football event. Four countries have already secured their place in the competition following the most recent round of qualifiers. Algeria, Morocco, South Africa, and African champions, Senegal, will join hosts, Cote d’Ivoire, in the tournament.
The Final Draw of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations 2023 Cote d’Ivoire will be held in September 2023, according to CAF General Secretary, Veron Mosengo-Omba. With growing global interest in CAF competitions, CAF is projecting record global TV audiences and stadium attendances for next year’s flagship event.
