Murray’s determination to gain valuable clay-court experience ahead of Roland Garros prompted his decision to compete. Having battled past formidable opponents such as Gael Monfils, Laurent Lokoli, and Luca van Assche, Murray found himself facing Harold Mayot in the semifinals, with a place in the final at stake.
Despite a tightly contested first set, Murray showcased his prowess by elevating his game to secure a commanding 7-5, 6-1 victory. With his eyes set on claiming his first trophy since his triumphant win in Antwerp back in 2019, Murray now prepares to face Tommy Paul in the final.
Murray’s exceptional serving skills were on full display, and it was fitting that he sealed the victory on his own serve, leaving Mayot unable to return a powerful backhand.
