Akwa Ibom PDP Ward Chieftain Charges Constituents On Need For PVC

July 19, (THEWILL) – As the build up to the 2023 general election intensifies, political stakeholders from ward 6 in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, have stressed the need for every citizen to register and get the Permanent Voter Cards (PVC), as it is the only way to ensure their preferred candidate are elected in the 2023 general elections.

While addressing a cross section of women at a meeting held in Ema Itam, the Political leader of the ward and Chairman Foreign Direct Investment, Mr Gabriel Ukpe, urged everyone to continue supporting the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration in the state. He tasked them to support all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, adding that just like Governor Emmanuel, the party’s candidate, Pastor Umo Eno, if elected, is a God fearing and sincere person, who would continue his good works.

Mr Ukpe said the prevalent peace and developmental pace in Akwa Ibom State will be sustained with Pastor Umo Eno in the saddle and charged those who are yet to get the PVC to ensure they do so before the cessation of registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In his message to the women the Executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Council; Barr. Etetim Onuk advised them to guard against being misled by anyone for selfish reasons, urging them to remain loyal to the PDP. He said ward 6 cannot be left behind in the scheme of things, reiterating the need to register and collect their PVCs in readiness for the task ahead.

Onuk, who said there is no alternative to the PDP in Akwa Ibom State, declared that he is confident that Pastor Umo Eno will be the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State. He tasked party faithfuls to support the party’s candidate at all levels.

The Chairman of PDP in ward 6; Mr Edem Ukut, asked the people to remain steadfast and support the party’s candidates, as it is the only way to continue benefiting from democratic dividends. He noted that the importance of women cannot be overestimated, pointing out that the segmented series of meetings to bring the people together will be sustained in the ward.

Similarly, the Councillor representing ward 6 in Itu Legislative Council, Hon. Ofonime Etim, called on the women to remain steadfast and support Pastor Umo Eno and all other party candidates in the forthcoming election. She said there is no better choice than the PDP.

Other stakeholders who attended the meeting included; Mr Effiok Bassey Etim, Mrs Nkese Stephen, Mrs Alice Nyah, Pharm Udoekpo Ekpo, Mr Henry Ekong and Pastor Eyo Ekpo, among others.
