January 29, (THEWILL) – Amad Diallo, Manchester United’s young, talented forward, made an immediate impact on his Rangers loan debut on Saturday, scoring after just five minutes in a 3-3 draw with Ross County in the Scottish Premiership.

The 19-year-old completed his move to Ibrox on Thursday, having previously been close to joining Birmingham and later attracting interest from Derby and Nottingham Forest. He went straight into the starting lineup for this weekend.
When he first joined following a £37.5 million transfer from Atalanta last January, Amad made an immediate impact for Manchester United’s Under-23 team with a brace against Liverpool on his debut, and he definitely has a hunger for a 100mph start.
The Ivory Coast international raced into the penalty box, wearing Rangers’ number nine shirt, and turned the ball in at the far post from Joe Aribo’s tantalising low cross.
Throughout his 66 minutes on the pitch, Amad was a threat, but he was also roughed up by Ross County and was the victim of a cynical foul from Jake Volkins at one point. Ultimately, Amad’s goal didn’t help to a Rangers win.
Due to defensive errors, the Scottish champions fell behind 2-1 before halftime, but had clawed their way back into a slender lead with little under 20 minutes plus stoppage time remaining. But Matthew Wright made it 3-3 in the 96th minute.
Amad, who has made nine senior appearances for United in his first 12 months at the club, but only one in the first half of this season, needs the chance to play regular first-team football.
“It is fantastic for me at this stage of my career to have the opportunity to come to such a big club that is challenging on a number of fronts and will give me some excellent opportunities to test myself in many environments,” he said after signing for Rangers on Thursday.
