ruben amorim

October 29, (THEWILL) – Manchester United have expressed interest in hiring Rúben Amorim as their new manager and will pay the £8.3m termination clause in the Portuguese coach’s contract with Sporting.

The deal has not yet been finalised, and Amorim remains Sporting’s coach for now. However, his departure appears to be close as United have moved swiftly to make him their top target following the confirmed departure of Erik ten Hag.

Amorim has already accepted Manchester United’s proposal, and barring any major surprises, the 34-year-old is set to take over at Old Trafford. Sporting referenced “the terms and conditions set out in the contract” in their statement, confirming that Manchester United will pay the release clause to secure Amorim’s services.
