July 03, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s world record holder, Oluwatobiloba Amusan, triumphed in the women’s 100-metre hurdles, despite challenging weather conditions at the seventh leg of the Wanda Diamond League season in Stockholm.
Overcoming the enveloping rain, Amusan left no one in doubt of her pace with an impressive time of 12.52 seconds. Among the eight contestants, Sarah Lavin of Ireland secured second place with a personal best of 12.73 seconds, while Pia Skrzyszowska of Poland finished third with a time of 12.78 seconds.
Amusan had previously notched a commendable second position in the 100 metres hurdles event at the Lausanne Diamond League, trailing behind Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, who clinched the victory with a time of 12.40 seconds.
This time around, Amusan equalled her personal best for the season, crossing the finish line in 12.47 seconds, while Tia Jones secured the third position in 12.51 seconds.
