August 01, (THEWILL) – American actor, Angus Cloud, renowned for his role as a drug dealer, Fezco ‘Fez’ O’Neill, on HBO’s hit series ‘Euphoria’, has died at 25.
Cait Bailey, the actor’s publicist, confirmed that Cloud died on Monday, at his family residence in Oakland.
However, the cause of his death was not disclosed.
This development is coming weeks after losing his father, Conor Hickey, who was buried last week.
In a heartfelt statement, Cloud’s family bid farewell to the cherished artiste. They revealed that Cloud recently endured the loss of his father, which became a deeply emotional struggle for him.
“Last week, he buried his father and intensely struggled with the loss.
“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.
“We hope the world remembers him for his humour, laughter and love for everyone”, his family added.
Cloud’s rise to fame was extraordinary. He was discovered by Eléonore Hendricks, while casually walking down the streets of New York.
Cloud eventually took the role of Fez, alongside Zendaya in the first two seasons of ‘Euphoria’, after meeting with casting director, Jennifer Venditti and series creator, Sam Levinson.
He became the breakout star of the series, leading to a supporting role in his debut film, ‘The Line’ and being cast in ‘Scream 6’.
