December 25, (THEWILL) – Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks is expected to return from the NBA’s health and safety protocols in time for Saturday’s game against the Boston Celtics.
Giannis is likely to return to the starting lineup after “a strong workout” on Friday, and will play unless there is a late setback.
On December 14, Antetokounmpo was placed in the NBA’s health and safety protocols. Reports emerged on Friday that held that the two-time MVP had completed protocols after being away for a total of ten days.
Antetokounmpo is having another MVP-level season with 27.0 points, 11.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game. The 27-year-old has averaged over 25 points and 10 rebounds for the fifth straight season.
Last season, as THEWILL reported, Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee to its first NBA title in 50 years. After averaging 35.2 points, 13.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.8 blocks in the Finals, he was overwhelmingly chosen MVP.
