BEVERLY HILLS, July 20, (THEWILL) –Â A Court of Appeal sitting in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, has discharged and acquitted former Governor of the state, Bala Ngilari, of violating due process.
THEWILL recalls that Justice Ambrose Mamadi of the state division of the High Court had earlier sentenced Ngilari to five (5) years imprisonment.
He was accused of violating due process in the procurement of 25 units of vehicles during his tenure as governor.
But the Appeal court, in it’s ruling on Thursday, set aside the ruling of the lower Court thus setting Ngilari free from the five years imprisonment.
