April 23, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid carried their momentum from their UEFA Champions League triumph over Chelsea to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo in La Liga on Saturday.

Marco Asensio and Eder Militao scored a goal each to secure the win for Carlo Ancelotti’s men, who have won their last four matches by a similar 2-0 margin. Madrid, who have been off the pace in the domestic league this season, trimmed Barcelona’s lead at the top to eight points with the victory.

Although Los Blancos rested key midfielders, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, Madrid dominated the game, with Asensio’s strike late in the first half and Militao’s header soon after the break sealing the win. Asensio’s goal, his eighth of the league campaign, was set up by Vinicius Junior’s seventh assist of the season. Militao’s header also came from an Asensio corner.
