BEVERLY HILLS, December 26, (THEWILL) – Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has described the recent defection of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as an exercise in futility.
Masari made the statement in an interview with NAN in Maiadua, Katsina State on Monday as he received former Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Yau GojoGojo, who formally defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from the PDP.
THEWILL recalls that GojoGojo served as the speaker throughout the tenure of former Gov Ibrahim Shema.
Speaking at the event, Masari declared that Atiku’s defection would not in anyway affect the electoral success of the ruling APC, stressing that Atiku had just answered his popular name.
Meanwhile, GojoGojo promised to uphold the constitution of the APC as well as campaign vigorously to ensure its success in future elections, stressing he was also moved into the APC by the exceptional performance of Gov. Masari, especially on prudence, accountability, security and education.
