January 20, (THEWILL) – World number two, Iga Swiatek, provided evidence of her exceptional form at the Australian Open, defeating American Emma Navarro 6-1 6-2 in their quarter-final match on Wednesday.
The Polish champion advanced to her second Melbourne Park semi-final with a commanding performance that lasted just over an hour.

“Madison is a great player and really experienced, so you never know. The match that I lost, she kind of killed me, so I think it can be tricky,” Swiatek explained.
While attention has focused on defending champion Aryna Sabalenka in the top half of the draw, where she faces Paula Badosa in the other semi-final, Swiatek’s dominant performances suggest she might be the frontrunner for the title.
